Your Questions, Answered

  • Free 2-hour parking is available directly out the front of Dockside Osteopathy at Dockside Medical Hub. The waiting area is shared with Dockside Medical Hub, so please arrive a few minutes before your appointment.

  • No referral is required for general osteopathy or coaching appointments. However, if you wish to access Chronic Disease Management (CDM) rebates for Osteopathy, a GP referral is necessary.

  • Eligible patients may receive a Medicare rebate of $61.80 for Osteopathy appointments under a GP Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan. GPs at Dockside Medical Hub can provide the required referral documentation, with consultations bulk billed where applicable.

CDM services are subject to Medicare eligibility criteria and GP approval. Please check with your GP to confirm eligibility and referral requirements.

  • We are proud to support Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) clients and provide the highest standard of care.

    Please note:

    • The DVA scheduled fee for osteopathic consultations is less than 50% of our standard consultation fee.

    • While DVA covers the cost of your treatment, it does not cover missed appointments or late cancellations.

To ensure fairness and continuity of care:

    • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment time, or failure to attend without notice, will incur a $100 cancellation fee.

    • Future appointments cannot be booked until any outstanding fees are paid in full.

    • Unfortunately, DVA does not provide payment for extended consultations. Patients with complex or multiple conditions may therefore require more frequent appointments to ensure comprehensive care within the DVA consultation limits.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, which allows us to continue offering quality care to all patients.

  • Your first appointment will include a detailed medical history, a physical assessment (for osteopathy), or an intake conversation (for coaching), and a discussion of your goals. You’ll leave with a clear plan, personalised recommendations, and an understanding of how we’ll work together to support your body, mind, and overall well-being.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Bring any relevant medical records or notes about previous treatments. For coaching, consider what areas of your life, body, or relationships you’d like to explore or improve. Come with an open mind and a willingness to engage with your body, breath, and awareness.

  • Yes. Osteopathy and coaching can be adapted for a wide range of ages and abilities. Sessions are always trauma-informed, gentle where needed, and tailored to each individual’s body, experience, and capacity.

  • Developmental coaching and some online program components are available virtually. Osteopathy requires in-person treatment, as hands-on assessment and manual techniques are essential for safe and effective care.

  • Yes! Many clients benefit from combining hands-on osteopathy with coaching and online programs. This integrated approach supports both physical health and personal development, giving you tools to practice at home while receiving in-person guidance.

  • Yes. Osteopathic treatment is eligible for rebates through most Australian private health insurance providers, depending on your level of cover. Payment is made on the day of your appointment, and you can claim your rebate directly with your health fund.

Please note that developmental coaching and online programs are not eligible for private health insurance rebates. If you’re unsure what your policy covers, we recommend checking directly with your insurer prior to your appointment.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time, or failure to attend without notice, may incur a cancellation fee of:

    • $100 for 30-minute consultations

    • $200 for 60-minute consultations

These fees reflect the reasonable costs associated with practitioner time, preparation, and the inability to offer the appointment to another patient at short notice.

    Reasonable Circumstances

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. Cancellation fees may be waived or reduced in cases of illness, emergencies, or other exceptional circumstances, at the practitioner’s discretion. We ask that you notify us as soon as possible if this applies to you.

    Payment of Fees

Outstanding cancellation fees must be paid before future appointments can be scheduled.
